The Organizers of the 2022 Headies Awards have announced the inclusion of some additional new categories to the list of awards to be presented at this year’s event.
This is coming after the organizers earlier announced a new date for the 15th edition of the Award ceremony which will take place at the Cobb Galleria Center in Atlanta, US.
The 2022 Headies Awards was earlier scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 2, 2022 but has now been re-scheduled to Sunday, 4th of September 2022 at the same venue.
In an official announcement by the organizers, they stated that, there has been an addition of three new categories to the award scheme. The categories are ‘International Artiste Of The Year’, ‘Best Inspirational Single’ and ‘Digital Artiste Of The Year’. They also gave reasons for these categories addition.
They wrote; “In the spirit of inclusivity, The Headies Awards adds three (3) new nomination categories to its forthcoming 15th edition. This latest amendment is birthed from critical discussions with key music and creative industry stakeholders to include certain sectors of the Entertainment industry in order to ensure an holistic and well-rounded celebration of deserving music industry talents”.
