Fiorentina appoints Gennaro Gattuso as new manager

Fiorentina has announced the appointment of Gennaro Gattusa as their new manager two days after he was sacked at Napoli.

Napoli sacked the former football star after his final game on Sunday.

Former World Cup winner Gennaro Gattuso was named coach of Fiorentina on Tuesday.

He failed to qualify the team for next season’s Champions League after playing out a 1-1 with Verona.

Fiorentina on the other hand failed to renew the contract of their manager Giuseppe Iachini.

Gattuso played on the Italy team that won the 2006 World Cup and had coached Sion, Palermo, OFI Crete, Pisa and AC Milan.
