France international Kylian Mbappe has downplayed speculation linking his Paris Saint-Germain teammate Neymar with a move to Real Madrid.
Neymar moved to the Parc des Princes from Barcelona in a world-record £198m deal last summer and became an instant hit in the French Ligue 1 with the Spanish giants lobbying for his signature.
However Mbappe is adamant that the rumours about the Brazilian leaving for the Bernabeu at the end of the season are all false.
He told Telefoot: “It’s nothing but hot air.
“Neymar sends me messages, gives me news. I wished him a good World Cup, but not to win it.
“Of course, I have the goal of winning the World Cup. It’s even a dream. If we progress well, we can achieve something.”
PSG’s manager Unai Emery is expected to leave the club at the end of the season after his side were knocked out of the Champions League in the round-of-16 by Zinedine Zidane’s side.
Though the former Monaco forward insists the Ligue 1 leaders are having a good season as they march towards another league title, and after they lifted the Coupe de la Ligue on Saturday.
He added: “I’m not sure that Emery will leave, even if he is at the end of his contract.
“I don’t know if he talks to the club. We’ll see who will replace him if he leaves, but he is not leaving at the moment.
“With PSG it’s a good season, even if we failed in Champions League. It will serve us well for next year, I hope. We will never forget it, that’s football. We simply didn’t deserve to progress.”
Neymar has been ruled out till the end of the season as he faces a late fitness test to join the Selecao for the Russia 2018 World Cup proper.
