Citizens who live in Kaduna area or wish to study in Zaria or Samaru can look at ABU institution (full title is Ahmadu Bello University). It has an impressive history (ABU exists since 1962) and high rankings among students and graduates.

This might not be the cheapest place to get an education, but it still an affordable federal university. Its fees are around 25,000-45,000 Naira.
