According to the release, the students would be on suspension until full investigation was conducted to determine their level of culpability.

It read in part;

“Following a report of physical manhandling involving two members of the Students’ Union Central Executive Council on September 5, the university Vice Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, has suspended the duo indefinitely from the university as student.

“The VC is satisfied that the code of conduct of the university has been breached. He has therefore decided to suspend the students that were allegedly involved in the incidence to determine their levels of culpability.

“Consequently, the two students are suspended pending full investigation of the alleged breach of conduct.”
