The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed total commitment to winning the November 26 governorship election in the state.
The party in a statement by the state secretary, Mr. Raman Rotimi, made available to journalists in Akure, described a comment credited to some people that APC does not have what it takes to win the election as unfounded.
The party noted that it remained unperturbed as all its efforts were geared towards emerging victorious in the forthcoming governorship election.
“We in APC remain resolute and committed to winning the governorship election and we are not prepared to drag issues with anyone or group of people.
“We intend to rule Ondo State with legitimate votes from the electorate and our teeming supporters including those that believe in the change mantra of the President Muhammadu Buhari led Administration,” he said.
The statement urged APC loyalists to remain focused and work for the victory of the party in the election.
He further condemned in strong terms, the protests that greeted the governorship candidates’ list released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the aggrieved members of the PDP.
The APC advised the concerned PDP members to take their grievances to appropriate quarters rather than disrupting the existing peace in Ondo State ahead of the poll.
“We urge our members and supporters not to be carried away by the happenings in the camp of PDP but see it as avenue to gather more support for the APC in the bid to win the governorship election “
The statement called on all security agencies in the state to be more vigilant and proactive at ensuring safety of life and property of residents in the state before, during and after the election.
