Okorocha Swears-in New Commissioner, Adviser , Perm-secs

The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has sworn-in a new commissioner for information, Engr. Obinna Nshirim, and a Special Adviser on Security, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Mr. Hillary Opara, (Rtd).
The governor also sworn-in members of the Judicial Service Commission including Barr. Teddy Akwari, Barr. Nelson Ezerioha, Barr. Iheukwumere Alaribe and Mr. Kelechi Iwueze, while six new permanent secretaries were also sworn-in. They include, Dr. Irene Chima, Mrs. Pat Ekennia, Mr. Augustine Uzoigwe, Mrs. Rose Izuogu, Barr. Ifeanyi Nwobi and Mr. A.O. Amadi.
Also sworn-in is the son of the former governor and Senate President, Mr. Evan Enwerem Jnr who was sworn-in as the Transition Committee Chairman of Ikeduru Local Government. Chairman and members of the State Civil Service Commission were also sworn-in. The chairman is Mr. Bonaventure Ibebuike.

Addressing the new appointees on Thursday, October 27, 2016, Governor Okorocha told them that their appointments were not for compensation, but for anticipation of their capacity to do the job for which they have been appointed.
The governor charged them to live up to expectation and shun corruption, selfishness in the discharge of their duties and think more about the interest and well-being of the state,.
Okorocha also Advisied the new Commissioner for Information to bridge the Communication gap between the people and the state government.
His words: “To the Chairman and members of the Imo State Civil Service Commission, your duty now is to recruit over 3000 Imo sons and daughters who must be computer literate to serve in our various ministries and government agencies. Our Civil Service is getting out of fashion and old, hence there is need for replacement.”
