Officials have disclosed Salisu Yusuf will this week in Abuja sign a contract as Nigeria chief coach, which will pay him five million Naira monthly.
The former Kano Pillars and Enyimba coach was to have signed his contract before the AFCON qualifier against Tanzania in Uyo this weekend, but top officials were overseas on official duties around that time.
“The NFF president has said he should be in Abuja this week to sign his contract,” an official announced.
Yusuf will, besides assisting Rohr, also be in charge of the home-based Eagles.
He was on two million Naira every month when he assisted late Stephen Keshi and Sunday Oliseh.
Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr is on $47,000 a month, which is more than thrice what Yusuf will earn.
Rohr has signed a two-year contract, which is being bankrolled by a mystery sponsor.
He has handpicked three personal assistants to be part of the Eagles backroom staff and they were part of Saturday’s match against Tanzania.
