Nigeria U-17 national team, the Golden Eaglets, pipped Niger Republic 1-0 on Saturday in their first leg, first round qualifier of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
Alagbe Oluwatobiloba scored the only goal of the game in the second minute at the Abuja National Stadium.
Manu Garba’s boys are walking a tight rope ahead of the return leg.
Niger Republic will host the return leg in two weeks’ time with the winner over the two legs going into the second round.
The Eaglets defeated hosts Niger 2-0 the last time they met in the opening match of the 2015 U-17 AFCON.
The Eaglets are the reigning FIFA U-17 World Cup champions after claiming their fifth title in Chile last year.
