It is sad but true, Prince Abubakar Audu the APC candidate in the Kogi State governorship election, who was clearly in the lead, has been confirmed dead. codedwap.com.ng has confirmed the his death from multiple sources.
INEC returning officer for the election, Prof. Emmanuel Kucha of Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, has said no party could be declared the winner yet since the numbers of cancelled votes was more than the difference between the first placed Prince Audu of APC and the second placed Governor Idris Wada of PDP.
A credible source say Prince Audu died since around 5am on Sunday morning…
He would have been declared winner of the election if not for the difference in the number of cancelled votes and his margin, but now that he has departed this world under a strange circumstance, some are saying that the APC victory will be transfered to his deputy, while others are saying the PDP candidate who is second should benefit from the unfortunate turn of even. We will know the position of the law soon.
