Nigerian users can now send and receive money via BBM. The service is provided in partnership with Interswitch, the electronic switch interconnecting the ATM networks and internet banking services of banks in Nigeria.
How it works
Download and install the Quickteller Mini app to your smartphone. Login to your Quickteller account (or create one if you are new). The app will send a verification code via SMS. After verification is done, it asks to link to your BBM app. Once you give the approval, you are ready to go.
While chatting with anyone, tap the attachment button, choose the Quickteller icon, enter the amount and make a request. The recipient of the message simply taps it and enters their account details. The money is credited to the recipient’s bank account instantly.
I have this up and running on my phone already. I only need to determine which of my BBM contacts to extract money from first.
